For the sixth year in a row, Larson Pallet Company has received the prestigious WASTE REDUCTION AWARDS PROGRAM (WRAP) award from the California Integrated Waste Management Board for our outstanding contribution toward improving the environment by reducing waste.

The WRAP program is designed to recognize companies that develop creative and aggressive programs to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.

Winners are honored based on a set of criteria of waste prevention, materials reuse, recycling, recycled-product procurement, and employee education.

Since it's inception, WRAP has recognized 825 California businesses that have made significant strides in waste reduction, many of them repeat winners.

Excerpts from the California Environmental Protection Agency Press Release - September 23, 1997

For the fifth straight year, the Waste Board is please to recognize businesses that have gone out of their way to develop innovative waste reduction programs that not only help the bottom line, but also help local governments cut the amount of trash going to landfills.

Larson Pallet Company is a leading manufacturer of new and reclaimed custom wood pallets and also a recycler of reconditioned pallets. Larson Pallet dismantles non-repairable pallets, recovers the usable materials and manufactures reclaimed products.

Non-usable boards are reduced to chips through a grinding process and sold to companies that will recycle them into other wood products. In 1997 Larson Pallet Company added 4,000 square feet of production space dedicated solely to its recycling activities. Their cost savings now exceed $700,000 per year.
